PASS4 GOLF is a non-profit business founded in 2002 by Barry Poole and US based Philip Poole a US soccer scholarship graduate to assess, assist, promote and support student athletes find and win sports scholarships in Higher Education.
The UK team include Director Daniel Gray a US sports scholarship graduate and Barry Poole a former golf publisher and course designer. Over the years we have been diligently advising golfers and their parents about the fierce competition for golf places in American universities and colleges.
There are over 22 million golfers and some 18,000 golf courses in the USA. Most students’ athletes who seek golf scholarships are from Socio-Economic AB backgrounds who prepare for university throughout High School and are used to saving/paying for their education. American families in general prepare well in advance to take advantage of the best scholarships in both State and Private sectors completing their SAT testing by end of Year 12.
International golfers seeking places in the best golf programmes need to display desire and determination and be recommended as prospects capable of winning with the right academic qualifications to gain admission into the main stream academic entry systems.

For golfers seeking either to remain in the game in some other capacity or following a career in one of the professions after graduating from a US university or college golf program can offer a life rewarding experience with a greater number of job opportunities in the game.
Young golfer teaching and competitive development within the American systems is no better than in the UK. Weather and course conditions in the South may be generally better and opportunities for playing and jobs may be far more numerous than in the UK. However, the elite and talented development work at senior and junior levels supported by the the R&A, the Golf Unions and the PGA’s is superb and a match for what our American counter parts do.
The opportunities and challenges offered in the US university and colleges sectors for young talented golfers are there to be taken although international golfers cannot continue to go on expecting fully or almost fully funded places unless they offer proven talent both on the Course and in the Classroom. Careful financial planning matched to desire, determination and talent is required to reap the rewards. If these elements are present PASS4Golf will open the door to hundreds of US male & female university & college golf coaches in the USA who recruit for the Golf team.
We will initially Evaluate any suitable elite or highly talented golfer in the 15 to 21 age range.
EVALUATION. Register your interest at “Free Evaluation” above to find out if you are eligible for one of the academic entry levels for US golf scholarships. Suitable candidates will then be invited to request an Assessment.
ASSESSMENT. As part of the Professional Assessment we will look at your golf history, your grades, take up your references and and advise on your potential. Most important we will advise you and your parents about all the upfront costs of “getting to the USA” plus the cost of education if any after the scholarships you could attract.
NETWORKING. If you decide to join the PASS4Golf Network you will be personally introduced and recommended as suitably prepared to join a US university or college golf program. Our Network and Database covers all universities and colleges offering places. All Networking clients are mentored all through the process up to departure to America.
